By the 1890’s the Italianate style was prevalent and the decoration on the façade of the terraces grew more elaborate with lavish displays of cast iron, cast cement and ornamental doors and window forms.
Our model is based on houses found in and around, East Melbourne. This particular house had a stucco front and a hipped slate roof. An ornate balustrade parapet was complemented with cast iron verandah details and balcony.
